Dub techno emerged in early-1990s Berlin when Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus, through Basic Channel and Maurizio, joined Detroit's pulse to Jamaican studio logic. A brief chord enters delay, reverb and filters, multiplies into fog, while kick and bass hold the route as the room slowly changes pressure. Chain Reaction widened the language through Porter Ricks, Monolake, Vainqueur and others. This is not “techno for sleep” but music in which the effect becomes a composer. Deep bass and an even kick keep the body in place while everything else dissolves the walls. Every echo returns with experience despite having left only a second ago.
